These Old Crossroads

Well I went on back home after so long

It was the place with so many crossroads

So somewhere around town I was reminiscing

Somehow I met up with an old school friend

One thing led to another you know how it goes

Now I don’t know why so many women confide in me  

Why they feel they have to share their entire lives woes

It’s just been one of things throughout my life

Nothing ever happens it just always gets close

I know that I wasn’t your favorite friend back then

But I’m the one and you’re here with me now

Honey it’s not that I don’t want to get close

But I know these crossroads because I’ve been there

And you’re right here wondering which way to go

It’s a hard and lonely condition and it’s so cold

You have the Feeling that you’re all alone

And the fact that you’re here with me now

Just proves how low you’re willing to let yourself go

I know what you want you just need a friend

And I don’t mind I’ve always seemed to be the one

The girls confide in over the years maybe that’s because

They feel I’m safe and that I’ll be leaving soon

But I know these crossroads around here

Now as it turns out I knew her old man

And he remembered me when he caught up to us

He wanted to fight so I told him straight up

The guys confided in maybe that’s because
