Deep Down in the Hold



What is this place
somewhere i don't know it
the sun don't shine
where it's supposed to
and the moon well
it won't crest where it aught to

Give me time
give me something
give me everything
give me hope
give me shadow
give me a glimpse
into the future

Give me something
to keep my head
above the water
give me life
give me a chance
to make everything
better...better...better

There's darkness in the light
there's brightness in the shadow
there's death lurking in the night
there's hope waiting on tomorrow

So wait and give me a minute
can't you hear the whispers
something's on the wind
trying it's best to get in

Just a shimmer in the distance
a silver string to line the way
nothing i can do it keeps on pulling
my fate lies in wait upon them

Now there's nothing left here to hold me
no chimes to sound out the wave
it's everything to keep it together
