On The Other Side

People like to criticize me
they question why I never say good bye
if they only knew how or what I feel
if they could just see it in my eyes

Maybe then they would feel some comfort
some warmth warranted to store me in their heart
but why do they feel they need these reasons
what is it that has them so discontented

Don't they know they get automated
can't they feel what's been there all along
from the first time we began our adventure
what we've learned about each other along the way

I hoped you would know so I wouldn't have to say it
we should know it's always there forever and ever
this love I have for you in my heart will never leave
for eternity you will always be my special friend

So if I turn away it's not because I don't love you
it's just that I want to believe I will see you
hopefully in some part of our near future
but if that don't happen then I'll remember

The way you are here today still happy
and when I'm old I'll hang on to your smile
it will help me to not worry I'll be seeing you
when you'll find me on the other side
