The desert
wind keeps you warm and dry
Not much
water to even wet your lips
And the sand
it gets every where
Can't even
hide behind goggles or handkerchiefs
Beyond the
horizon past the moving sand
Lies a
stagnant city a remnant of the days of old
Only the
bold and strong of heart will make it there alive
Remember
when you arrive there's only one golden rule
Speak from
the heart and guard your soul
Evil lurks
in the darkness you'll never know
Desperate
people lost in their ways live here
Struggling
to live their lives day after day you see
You are the
stranger in their eyes to this desert land
You can't
see past their outstretched hands
The
desperation in their voices as if they're trying to say
Help me I’m
starving and I can't run away from here
So young am I
destined to die or just wither away
Is there
more to this earth than this unbearable desert land
The bones
are all around you half in the golden sand
How many
signs does one need to see this is a wasteland?
Off in the
distance you know there is hope for them
How can you
tell them it's just outside their reach?
That they will
never get to see or bath in a running river
Helpless
there's not much you can do as one man
Like the
others before you hiding behind the words
This must be
what god has planned
I'll turn it
on, I’ll turn it on
All my
knowledge, my hopes and dreams
This I can share
with all of you my new friends
Together we
can turn it all around this life of despair
Why in this
big world do we leave so many behind?
We should be
past all of this in this age of times
I'll turn it
on, I’ll turn it on
I'll share
with you my love not my hate
I'll hold
your hand and guide you true
I'll help
whatever I can just show me what to do
My new
friends, my new friends
I'll turn it
on, I’ll turn it on
I'm here for
you with outstretched hands
Showing
there can be love for one and all
I’ll try and
do the best for you my new friend
I'll turn it
on, I’ll turn it on
You know I will
try
I'll turn it
on, I’ll turn it on
Even if it
means I may die
I'll turn it
on, I’ll turn it on
I'll turn it
on, I’ll turn it on
